Don't know about the Maiden. What about some Deep Purple or Motorhead?

Bot a bad choice Fred, Start off with some nice big gentle aero's during the ballady bit at the start and drop in to some wild VTPR when it speeds up near the end.

What abot a bit of Speedfreak?

My god, what a bunch of head bangers you are!( :D )

Why not use something sophisticated  like Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries….used to great effect in “Apocalypse Now“
(Valkyries were buxom  scantily clad Nordic women warriors,……ooooo I do like a buxom woman with generous thighs    )

Waltz’s also work very well with flying sequences’  (In my opinion)

Keith

Ah, your educated "Garden of England" upbringing showing through Keith!!

My headbanging days are long over, but I well remember not being able to move my head after a  night at an Iron Maiden, Motorhead or Thin Lizzy concert :D

(Perhaps something from the Holst Planet suite would do?) :?:

I'm a rock and blues man at heart Keith.
Led Zeppelin, ACDC, ZZ Top, Thin Lizzy, Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Metallica. Some John lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, Eric Clapton and Chris Williams band, The Average Blues Band. A wee bit of Jazz. Charlie Parker.

As you said, Wagners Ring, Holts Planet Suite and some Tchaikovsky.

Eclectic at best

OK, as I finished early today, I started a little research for the trip.

From Cherbourg to Ehrenberg (campsite) is 1100Km (~700 miles), so that's probably 2 days driving. Google maps is estimating 10 hours driving time.

I suppose the next question is whether we convoy with a few cars or do we look in to hiring a minibus and all travelling together. That is going to depend largely on whether we all plan going for the same legth of time?
Personally, I don't think it's worth going unless we go for at least 10 days. (4 days travel and 6 days at Retroplane and any optional locations on the way back)

Comments?
Suggestions?

Hi Bill,

Went I went to Nice for Retroplane, that was a 1300km drive from Cherbourg ! So if we are 2 or 3 drivers (or more!) that should do it easily  :D  And I had some mountain roads on top of that!
I would prefer to go all in one car/van/bus, as this will be easier, and certainly cost less on the ferry, and will also be part of the experience  :D  Like a school trip or something like that !    :P
So, I'd say 2 days travel including the ferry. Depending when we arrive, we can certainly do a convoy with the guys from Cherbourg/Normandy  :?:
I'm good for 10 days  :D

I'm up for 10 days, need to check with John how long he can take.

What about anyone else planning to go? Numbers will determine the type of vehicle we would need. If it's only the 3 of us, we'd get away with a mid size van. Anymore and we're looking at a mini bus.

Do you want to look at pricing vans/mini buses in the South and I'll check it out up here?

I'd have no problem driving to a pick up point in the south and leaving the car there. John and I could probably just use the one vehicle to get down.

I think we ned to get moving on this as soon as Jan 2010 arrives to sort it all out in time.

Hi Guys!

I'm hoping to see you at the Wasserkuppe, but I'll be coming up from Central France (Limousin)

It's the only way I'll EVER get this Minimoa finished!

Hi All,

Just out of curiosity. Who is going to Retroplane in the Wasserkuppe?, even just as a spectator. I know me and Fred are going. Anyone else?

Alan.
