Killaloe glide-in 27th December?
« on: December 25, 2007, 22:47:33 PM »
Hi guys

I got this text message on my cell phone today:"Happy christmas to all G G's! Last gliding outing for '07 on thur 27th. 11am, tountinna, W.P. Hope you can make it.  Warm clothes, hot drinks mandatory! G.B."

I cannot for the life of me work out who "G.B." is, or even where "W.P." is.  I have worked out that "Tountinna" is the mountain with the great slopes above Ballina, Co. Tipp, or Killaloe, Co. Clare (the two towns are almost next to each other, on either side of Lough Derg).

Can anyone throw more light on this event?

Chris

Well.. That's short notice !
Working on Thursday anyway, but that's a bit weird alright !  :?:

Well, going to fly this week end, weather permitting of course !  :D

Hi Fred

It's a bit dissapointing, you seem to be almost the only on that reads this forum?

Well, the weather looks particularly terrible on Thursday, don't think anyone will be able to fly....

Ah well, it's Xmas, people have other things to do    :D
But that's right, lots of people visit the forum (yep, almost 100 000 unique visitors this year !!  :D ) but looks like the Irish don't really want to use it...
But I keep using it anyway !  :D  :P
If nobody want to share information, knowlege and so on, that's fine with me ! But at least between us, we keep things moving !

Some snooping around has brought to light that one "BUCKLEY, Gerard" from Ireland has entered for Retroplane 2009, maybe that was "GB" who sent me the text message?  :?:  Does anyone know him, or where he comes from?

Hiya Chris
Yeah! that was Gerry Buckley alright!
I think I gave him your number around the time we headed down to Cork/Kerry as there was a few people in interested in his neck of the woods.
Gerry is the Glider Sec for the Shannon flying club.
