Airtech Pixel CG?
« on: May 27, 2016, 23:20:25 PM »
Hi Guys,

Just wondering of anyone has come across the airtech pixel, a french model apparently. I bought it second hand and the previous owner hadn't flown it - anyway I'm wondering about the CG and where it should be?

It's a pitcheron and with no experience with these beasts i'm unsure how it would handle a bad CG :/

Cheers,

Nicky.

Hi Nicky, welcome to the forum :)

The Pixel is a French design indeed (airtech-rc.com) and a very nice model!
Never had one, but tried a couple.
The CofG is between 70 - 75mm from the LE at root.
For the neutral position for the wing, the TE should be aligned with the molding line of the fuselage.

Great flyer, even in slow winds, but I found it "hard" to land, although, not a big issue in big wind, but the machine is tough!

Hope this helps, and don't hesitate to post photos and flight reports! :)

I know it's a bit down the road now, but i finally got the Pixel in the air! Got distracted throughout winter with other projects and I'm sorry I waited so long. Love the Pixel, bit tricky to land if you don't have a good lee side but here a bit of footage...

Congrats on the first flight!

The Pixel is a very nice glider, but hard to land alright because of the wingeron configuration.

That machine will follow you everywhere :)
