One question, "did you go for the all moving tail/elevator ?
I have a couple of planes on the table to complete then the fish is next.

Hi Richard! Thanks, glad you like the Le Fish, I'm so honored it has brought so much pleasure to so many people. And of course I like it pretty well myself

I am attempting my first Madslide-style elevator right now, on my new Swiss Fish-inspired build. Thread on RCG if you're interested. I hope to have it flyable in time for our July 9th VTPR rencontre here in Southern California.

Some fun with the ultralightweight 388g / 1.5m Spindrift built by my friend Swiss Peter. Wind was only about 2-2.5 m/s... pretty marginal even for this plane!

It is "in process" and must be finished by the weekend, in time for our first ever VTPR event here in Southern California!

The one I am building will be a bit of a hybrid. It won't be quite as light as Peter's, but it will incorporate an all moving elevator (incidence integrale I believe the French call it) and I fully intend to do some Madslide -style flip-loops with it, along with the ultralightweight. Going to be fun!

It is summer here but we seem to be having more rain than we did in Winter :!:
Some California sun might warm us up a little.

We had our fist slope bash up in Northern Ireland this year.
It was dry but no winds.
So we ended up eating alot of hotdogs.
This is a short video of the event.

This was filmed by one of my new buddies John "Big Gas" Scahill who has a very cool Madslide-inspired Extra that was a lot of fun to fly. Madflight is starting to catch on here in Socal!

My "MadSwissFish" ended up building to 16.5oz / 470g... even lighter than Swiss Peter's! That was a surprise but I did trim the wings down to 1.5m (the Le Fish is currently shipping with 66" / 1.6m wings - something Jack did for the production model, I don't think it helps the design personally and it's easy enough to change

). Anyways it's a fun plane but obviously had some trouble penetrating in the 13-15mph wind! The wing is stiff enough that I might try adding ballast, it's too early to say.

Also, I did manage to get a video of Dawson Henderson flying his solo session. (We did 2min solo sessions towards the end of the day for each pilot to show off his skills... really fun!) Dawson's style is really smooth and flowing and I think this video does a good job of showing it. He got two grass drags, one in the beginning and one towards the end - great pilot

There’s some pretty impressive flying there Steve :clap: including the ‘Back Flips’ which 4 axis flying (Vive la France) is famous for.
Very cleaver stuff…..

But I have a question :?: . What are the “grass drags” that you refer to Dawson doing?
