diatex diacov

hi gents
at last have found a uk supplier of diacov
just a few qs before i get some
should i buy the 1000 as this seems to be the lightest , also how do you fix on , im aware it shrinks
also you need glue , will balsa-loc work
or should i buy the glue they use on full size ( seems a bit heavy to me )
any help is massively appreciated

Hi Mick,

New here but have use the Diatex 1000 on my Horten glider and K8b 1/3 scale.

The "1000" version is perfect for us RC modellers. The "1000" products are also used for ultra light real planes and old glider restoration.

For diatex, the glue is in the product, but I recommend to add balsa lock on your wood before covering.

Howdy Mick,

Yeah, you will need some dope. I believe a "normal" dope should do it, but I never tried I have to say, too lazy, I buy the Diacov with the thermo glue

Alternatively, I think they are selling dope for the Diatex on the diatex website on top of my head. Or wherever you bought yours, they should have the dope for it

spoke to the uk supplier , and as you said a lot of work doping and two coats etc for the diatex
and he doesnt sell diacov , so think will do the solartex again
i know how it works and its always had good results for me

hi the only one i could find is " skycraft"
they only sell diatex not diacov , diatex you need glue to stick down
you can heat shrink , but the glue doesnt activate with heat

with the price and the glue and the dope , it works out about the same as solartex
