after spending a day flying off Downhill beach on the 13th July using the bungee and 100" models we have decided to give it another go on the 10th and 11th September
if the wind doesn't using the bungee and is blowing straight north we can fly off the sand dunnes

Downhill area is a glider pilot's paradise. Slope, bungee, towline (Bill :?: ) and if you want to go and see some of the real stuff, the Ulster gliding club is only 10mins away. Yes Andrew should be a great weekend!

I can bring a winch if it's wanted, or I'm sure I can dig out an old hand towline if anybody is feeling fit

I'll be working Sat am, but will head up straight after. Hopefully I can scrounge a bed (hint, hint Richard!)

Keith Downhill beach is located at castlerock near portrush and faces north. The beach is 8 miles long. To slope off the beach you need a north or northwest wind. If you go onto the mountain, 5mins from the beach, the slope faces west, go onto the top of the mountain, you have a west slope and a south/ south west slope. Richard can fill you in on the details. If we fly off the bungee and winch, we can fly in any wind direction off the beach, also great spot for a beach party!!!!! :P

Hi Keith, it would be fantastic for us to have your company again !
This area is amazing for us anoraks that fly model gliders :D
If you decide to travel up , I can meet you at Dungannon and show you the road to paradise.
From Sleive Gallion it is a further 35mins on the road.
For anyone that is interested in having a flight in a full size glider then they can check out the Ulster Gliding Club http://www.ulsterglidingclub.org/
£69 For your first flight and £40 for each flight there after for the next calender year.
These are hands on flights and the instructures will encourage you to fly  :)

Hope to have the new ultra lite Elim ready to maiden of the beach.
Just the tail feathers to cover and the radio gear to squeeze in.
