The forecasts I'm looking at show west-south-west winds for Sunday. Don't think the south slope would work.
In addition I've been up there (South slope) twice this week and found a bit of a problem with that big nuclear bomb in the sky...... It's very low at this time of year. So if the wind is in the south I'll be  giving it a miss.
If your going to D.S. you'd probably be okay, but for general flying, with the lift being a long way out on that slope, and with low sun it aint very comfortable........Trust me on this one!

If the wind veer's to the west I'll certainly be there. The top west slope is my FAVORITE :D  (I love it to bits!)

BTW Fred, welcome back to the forum  If Joe is still alive (I haven't heard from him for ages) he might turn up as well and I can give him his models. (Just in time for xmas.)

Nando is becoming a voyeur,.......he just likes to watch video's of others doing it!...........(Definitely a perv' that lad)

Hi Guys,
Keith may have a point, we will have to see later.
The forecast yesterday was for SSW wind with high cloud only at 50%.
Now its WSW wind but with a lot of low cloud.
Saturday's forecast will have to tell us, fingers crossed.

Thanks Keith  :D
On holidays now, lots to catch up ! :!:

Well, if the forecast is WSW, why not having a drive and come to Kilakee ?  :?:
Good training to fly in another slope (sorry Brian, no DS there!), and the Johnnie Fox is 5 minutes away ! (for a tea eh!)  :D

Either way i had here my FCamOne2 waiting for me, I'm going to make some videos and send them over!
Don't wanna be the only RC voyeur in here.

Sorry for the off-topic!

Are we are dropping the D.S. ( Dark Side, or Dymanic Soaring) what ever the meaning of the abreviation is. :?:  If so I'm thinking Saturday would be the better day for flying. At least from the present weather reports.

I've never been to Kilakee, is it high? i.e likely to be cloud bound?

Nando, I assume these videos you're making are suitable for family viewing?

Hi all,
The DS mention was a 'challange for fun' based on wind forecast yesterday. This Keith I will only try if you are there to hold my hand.
But to go flying is the real aim, and Mt L west is starting to look possible.Lets see the forcast tomorrow evening, but Sunday suits me best.

Hi Fred,
The sky is on the ground here with just some breaks in the low cloud.
Forecast for tomorrow is now showing even more low cloud than today, almost 100% cover, not good.
We will have to see later but it's not very promising.

I haven't seen Mt. Lienster all day, it's been covered in cloud. Tomorrow looks like more of the same, and even if the cloud lifts I don't fancy flying on a south slope on the shortest day of the year. :(

So,....unless the wind veers west, (and it's forecast to back south) I won't be sloping tomorrow I'm afraid guys

I might get a different model out. It's got one of those funny, whirly things on the front of it.
Anyone up for a spot of power flying?
