Hello Fred. This is just a gentle reminder!

I was told that you wouldn't attend the meeting over the weekend due to personal reasons. I hope that everything is alright!
Just to let you know that I am interested in the receivers and Vario. Will it be possible to ship them? Do you have a revolut account? Thanks

Filipe

Hi Fred.

I am not sure if you are going to the meeting in Mount Lester tomorrow. If you are, would you take the two GR16 and the Vario.
I would buy them.

Thanks,
Filipe

Hi Ralph,

I don't see it in the MACI portal!
What day will it be on?

Thanks,

Filipe

Hi Ralph,

I will have a look at the Quark for sure.
With September, are you referring to Tountinna or is there an event in Carlow?

Thanks,
Filipe

Hi Ralph.

I used Oracover. Regarding the sticking part it isn't easy with the 3D printed parts. In summary, you can use the iron but the timing is important, just a quick pass.
I would suggest, if possible, always have a different material for the covering material to stick to. For instance, in the wing trailing edge I have balsa and I was at ease.
I plan to try the plane when the weather suits.

In the meantime I am thinking if I will start a new project, ESCALIBUR. Wing in foam and covered with balsa. Fuselage, 3D printed.

I have also completed an easy one, the LIDL foamy. I have tried it and it flies well.

I hope that all is good.

Keep in touch,

Filipe

Hello all.

Almost finished this one. I had to modify the front area of the fuselage because of the CG.
Overall it feels a bit fragile but will have to test it anyway.
I will also check the weight in the meantime, need to get a battery for the weight scale. Nevertheless, I believe it should be around the 280gram mark.
In regards to the printing filament I am using ColourFabb LW-PLA.
One question if anyone knows, I am getting some jittering from the digital servos. What I saw on the web is that having a ferrit ring in the servos cables should stop it.
As this happened to anyone before? If so, I was solved?

Thanks all and keep well.

Hi Alan.

Once it is completed I will take it to one of the meetings for sure.
Regarding the weather to be able to fly it, that is another thing.  :)
Every once in a while I get some suitable weather around the house, so, maybe I will put it to use.

Thanks

Hello all.
Yes Ralph, I am more than happy to share my experience with this first built using 3D printed parts. Anything which might be needed just reach out.
Here are some more pictures from the built.

Small preview of my winter project - SuperGee2 from Mark Drela. I have 3D modelled the plane from the plan and already have most parts 3D printed. Hope to conclude this one soon, I had it as the winter project!  :)

Sorry.

The previous files take too much space.
Hopefully these will be easier to visualize.

Thanks

Hello all.

Thanks for the great time this past Saturday. Some pictures that I took from the weekend.
I am putting the RAW version of the picture file and not on a standard format, so hopefully it will be visible.

Thanks

I am new to the forum and would like to ask if there are any members flying indoor planes in Galway or near the area.

Thank you
