i wasn't that high i wouldn't have been the lenght of 500 feet :cry: and was only two fields away i've see me flyin a lot higher with that receiver in the albratross :?:

module and receiver came back today from Horizon
module was ok and passed all the tests
the receiver was a little short on the range check so they replaced it with a brand new one :clap: :clap:

i had ordered one for the K8 and as ralph say's it was takin for ages i rang them up and i had it within a couple of days

hey keith
i have a few of these regulators now in other models but i must say this is the first time i've used one on a good days flying
i'm gonna look into seeing if i can return it to the supplier and see if there is some sort of test they can do on it
i have flightpower regulators and cheaper jp perkins ones as well
sad thing is i've been flying this model in preparation for a 100" competition on the 9th of september
up side to all this i bought a new algebra on ebay the other day

i've flew this receiver in another thermal model and never had any problems, come Monday it will be back with horzion
the sad thing is i've been flying this model on those orange receivers you get off ebay for a few quid and never had any problems and the only reason i changed was i was to fly in a 100" competition last weekend :shock:
you could fix the model but you're just adding extra weight the both wings are creased as well so i would say it's a right off will change it into a slope model
as for the battery i checked it on the tester and both cells are showing good voltage and capacity
the sbec well how would you ever check if there was something not right that was my second or third flight when that happened can regeulators over heat ??

strange thing happened today went from being in a thermal to losing all radio contact and smashing the model :shock:
no idea what went wrong checked battery 85% power left done a range check all ok
i use a spektrum AR6255 receiver with a Turnigy SBEC regulator and flightpower 7.4 volt 1345 mah lipo battery
and the model was a dick edmonds 100" algebra
i'm gutted :cry: thermals where good and was having a ball
