Hi Guys
At B&Q Newry, you can get a 7.5m, 4mm, 600mm roll of Aluminium Thermal foil for £11.50 in their sale. I made a wing bag for my vector with a little side bag for the elevators. I used fibre tape to stick the sides together, and velcro tabs for the flaps. The bag in the photo took about 30mins to make, and I still have about 5m left for a fuslage bag and another wing bag set.

Hey John,
Yeah, that's some good stuff ! :D
Have a few rolls at home, some are 2 years old (stock them, as normal price is around 50 euros ! :x )
On Sale in the ROI too, 20 euros /10m roll at the moment (well, at least at my local Homebase)
All the wings I had with me protected by this foil in Germany (35 degrees on the slope...), were, well, "fresh" :D not a wrinkle on my coverings.

Hi Fred
I have a set of wing bags for a jet model which cost £70.00, I will be making my own from now on, no more spending on expensive bags

Way to go John ! :D
The price of already made wings/fuselage bag is just a joke!
And so easy to make yourself, or use off the shelves stuff like ski/snowboard bags etc :D

Er,……J.P. have you had a clearout?! :?: I can see clear spaces in your garage. Well, a couple of square meters anyway. When I first saw the pic I thought perhaps I was still half asleep. (Situation ‘normal’ for me!) But now I’m fully awake I’ve looked again, and the garage still looks clear’ish.
Good idea for wing bags, and cheap too,……..I’ll drink to that.

Keith! I have just reorganised the workshop a bit,all the wings and planes are on the right wall out of shot, still to many models.

Found a new stuff for wing bags ! :D
This is the stuff used to insulate wall beind radiators. Until now, the one I found was not very good for bags, but, there is a new range of tha thing in Homebase, called "EcoHome".
Comes in 4M rolls (60 cm wide) and cost 8 euros.
Looks like the bubbly plastic sheet you put under the floors, with a strong sheet of aluminium glued to it.
Can't tear it, this is very strong, and really thin (about 3mm all in).
No photos yet, but that is a good alternative to what's on top of this thread.

Hi Fred
I saw this stuff the other day in B&Q, not sure what price, another money saving product!
