Ok, planned to go to the Big L tomorrow for some flying.
Don't have a clue about the weather, wind etc etc...
So far, my plan is to get to the flying field early to fly, then Mt Leinster.
Well, I guess I see in the morning what the weather looks like :?:
-
Dame it. I won't be able to make it this weekend.
When do you think you will be test flying your Ka1 Fred.
-
Hi Alan,
Ka1 should be done and dusted this week end ! :D
First flight as soon we have good conditions, either Mt L or Kilakee :D
But I will let you know.
-
looks like 12-20km/h south-west for tomorrow
-
Thanks Joe,
Good stuff !
Good for the field in the morning, and good for the big Ka3 ! :D
-
enjoy!

Well, my trip to Mt Leinster stopped on the way at the MCFC field, in a pure lazy moment ! Very nice weather, lightish wind, and even thermals passing by... Wish we had a tow plane... Well, miracle happens ! :D :D
Thanks to Brian and the other pilots to have me as a guest all day
Here are a few photos, but a video of the day will follow soon! :D
Andrew and his Yak54, DA50 engine... Don't sneeze or you will miss it !

Then, Keith arrived ! :D
Keith was flying nicely with electric trainer, a Cessna type plane.
Well, you know me, when there is something to try...
I had the Easyglider in the car, so we decided to use Keith plane as a tug, and aerotow the Easyglider... Well, we had to entertain the crowed :P
Very nice ! I think our 4th and last tow (late in the day, had to go home  ) was the best one ! Keith managing to keep constant climb rate and speed, the tows were like a walk in the park !
So, we need to do that again with this setup ! That will keep us busy until the big tow plane gets ready !
Thanks Keith for having a go! Hope I did not shout at you too much (down down down! throttle ! left! right! beer! :P )
So, again, thank you all !
What the weather like for next saturday :D :?:
-
Looks like a nice flying feild Fred. How far away are those power lines? They look like they are close by.
-
Now Fred, I'm curious :?:
What is the guy in the background of the second picture doing???
As for the flying, .......that was very interesting. I've never flown a Tug before. They say you learn something new every day! :D
Let's see what the weather holds for this weekend. Mind you, if you take a liking to tow gliding you'll have to apply to join the MCFC. (Of course I'll veto your application. We don't want any foreigners in the club    )
-
 Good eyes eagle eyes Keith ! Did not even paid attention !
But I have the one when he do a number 2 in the background... :P
