Title: Fiu, lets all build one

After a discussion at the weekend it was suggested that we all build one of these for a mass launch in Sept. Anyone interested?

I think Fred can be persuaded to make a dozen or so kits ;D

Oh boy!

Ok, I send a mail to Laurent (the designer) to grant me permissions to cut a bunch for us, and come back to you.

I can print the plan for everybody (A3 Color  :) )
I have a Fiu somewhere! But will be much quicker to build a new one than trying to find it!  :-[

What have you done!!  :'( :'(

Ok, I sent a mail to Laurent to allow me to laser a bunch of kits.
I should have them ready for the April meeting.
I will print the plans also.
Cost, same as what Laurent was doing, 10€ a kit if everybody is OK with that.
You will have to add the TE (4x25mm, but I need to order wood, I can check price and do a group order for that if anyone interested) I ave 4mm balsa otherwise, can do the TE that way, just lots of sanding :)

Ok, had a mail exchange from Laurent (http://www.jivaro-models.org) and we have the go ahead  :) :)
The deal is that we send him pictures of the finished models  :D

I'll get cracking next week, and will keep you all up to date.

Trailing edges I'll take 10 and I am looking for 20 sheets of 6mm balsa please

Ok, a bit more than an hour   :( The laser cutter is Out of Service  :'( :'(

Hopefully, this is the laser tube, but before it died, I managed to cut 10 Fiu!  :)
Missing here are the plywood plates, TE and spars (all ordered!)

Got confirmation that the TE and spars are ordered, paid, and should be with me hopefully next week.

Yep, no problems, there is an infinite supply :)

10 made, will make more when the cutter is fixed ( a kit takes 2minutes ti be done. Love technology! :) )

Still waiting on wood delivery. I check the bill, but looks like the full kit will be 12€.
Plan, all the wood, TE, LE, nose block, balsa strips.

I post a photo as soon as i get the delivery:)

Mine got a recover. I'm sure I'll still get stick over the colour, but I blame my daughter. Flew a couple of weekends ago in 15mph and went really well. Slight warp in one aileron that I need to fix as it twists out of loops.

I can see exactly what way up it is and what direction it's going so I DON'T CARE what stick I get about the colour!!

Regarding the FIUs, can everybody who built one post a photo here please?

And I'll send them to the author of this model! Was part of the deal to get the DXF files :)
