Yebb, the one and only, with updated wing panels, ordered it for my mate so I'll post some pictures along the way.
Largest sailplane and also largest model (in wingspan not %) in Iceland. Bought in the UK, Al's Hobbies (http://alshobbies.com/) got it from Hyperflight(they didn't want to ship it, can't blame them after seeing the original box) for me and reboxed it so it would survive the trip overseas. Top service as usual!

Nice one!
I had the pleasure to try one quickly last year. Lovely model, fly like a trainer! (with the original bendy wings...)
-
Good to hear, my mate is known to like his loop and rolls though, will be interesting to see if it holds up. :?
-
Fingers crossed!
Apparently the new wing is much stronger.
At the same time, looks like the issue with the first wing affected only a few people as report from Germany, France etc were good with this model.
Wings bend, but don't break! :?:
-
Both sets came, at least he'll be half way to a new one if something happens. Not sure I'd be feeling lucky enough to try much aerobatics if I had one.
The price is very good though, reason why it was bought along with happy moments from the web/YT, the final price was more than double the UK price though, joys of island living with import taxes, not just VAT. :!:
-
Hello
I flew with the same glider in september , it's a really "smooth" glider. Easy for fly and take thermal.
-
nice glider but the tailplane have not the good "weding"
-
Yes I've seen something about shimming them up at the front.
What would you guys recommend, -1.5° to -2° for the tailplane versus the wing?
-
1.5 is good but the profiles?
-
The profile on the tailplane isn't good?
-
no , i want to know the wings profile
-
Tu veux dire quoi Ronan? :?:
Tu parles bien de l'incidence?
-
Ah, sorry about that! The box says HQW3/15.
-
Aaaaaaahhhhhh !
1.5 sound good then :)
-
oui , c est bien ça mon fred, mais j ai du mal en anglais :!:
HQW3/15. 1.5 is good
-
 non mais tu parlais de mariage a un moment
But your English is better than my Icelandic! ( even my drunk Icelandic is no good  )
-
bon , je vais prendre un apero , ça ira mieux
-
I'm pretty sure my French is about as good as your Icelandic.
Thanks for the assistance with the numbers guys.
-
Took some time to get started, best laid plans and all that!
Servos are in, tow hook has been moded, wiring is being made and I forgot to take pictures! I'll try and do better next time we're working on it! Though the assembly is pretty straight forward and not much to dwell on!
-
Brakes being installed, the compartment is marginal in size, 1-2mm more depth would be nice.
There'll be close to 15 meters of wire in the plane when all is done. This one goes to the tail servos.
Fish boxes make for nice cradles.
Plenty of room for the accessories, the satelites are waiting to be installed.
Loooong way back!
-
The inner panels are big so every measure is needed to wire them!
Wiring looms for the wing connection from the rx to fuse/wing join.
Still plenty of space, at times three arms shared that space!
The tow hook modification.
24 kg of pull should do the trick, at least we didn't manage to jam it!
-
We need wider space!
Setting up throws.
3 kg put in the nose, might need more, we'll see.
It's BIG!
330 cm CARF Yak in the background.
-
Once again, very neatly put together!
First flight this week end? :D
-
Thanks, still need to fix the weight so I doubt it. :?:
-
Hi selleri
Very nice one there. You should have a ball with it.It is in fact funny
that some had problems with it but let's hope yours is Ok.
I do not know if this is your first big one but I can assure you that if
it is the case you will just love flying those biggies.
I do fly big ones like a Duo-Discus at 8m with the AFT-25 system
and also building a 1/2 scale Duster right now.
How great that would be that you post some pics of your " 8 "
in our forum pages also.
It will be very nice to have you aboard.
Thanks,
Daniel

Hi Daniel
Afraid it's my mates but he has hinted that I can have a go when I've landed the tug, lol.
I'll head over tomorrow and post at your forum but now it's bed time, dreaming of glass slippers and gull winged woodies.

Had to delay it, 24 hours just aren't cutting it at the moment, lol.

I'm pretty sure we can also get some sort of answer over here too

Well the big day was today but first we needed a tug so we "maidened" the 33% Cub and then we were ready to roll. It sure liked to stay up when we found lift and it didn't take a long roll on the ground to get airborne, Zenoah 80 had no problem getting it up.
My mate is very happy and likes it a lot.
Pink Panther & Kate waiting...

Smashing flight! :D Followed by a perfect landing.

Keith

Cheers guys!
No need to Keith, we make sure to only show the good stuff!
-
Congratulations to all the pilots / builders!
REally looks like you are having waaayyy too much fun over there!
-
I must confess, in my ignorance,( ) that before Selleri started posting on the forum when thinking of Model aviation Iceland would not have even come to my mind.
They say you learn something new every day. I had absolutely no idea model, (and full size looking at the hangers,) aviation was so popular in Iceland.
The world is full of wonderment. I must learn to open my eyes.
Keith
-
We even had some Irish here long time ago.
-
Well we've been flying Kate a bit more and it's a joy to fly! It can take the lightest of thermals and climb to good altitude. The landing gear is still going strong and the loop "record" is currently at five consecutives loops so I'd guess the new wings are okay.

Hello Selleri, greeting from Cork, the real capital of Ireland.
I am looking at bringing back 2 of these kits from the UK next month and would like to know if you could take some measurements for me. This way I might work out if I need a bigger car.
I would like to know the dimensions of each wing panel, tail fin and fuselage if possible please.
Many thanks in advance
Ralph aka Rogallo
-
Hi Ralph
The tail fin is removable so that shouldn't be too much of an headache. I'll see if I can get the other numbers for you tomorrow night. Calling Neil at Hyperflight might be your quickest way though.
brg,. Sverrir
-
not sure if we are buying from hypreflight. if you could it would be great.
No worries if you cannot.
Thanks again
Ralph
-
Hmmm, I thought he was the only one carrying them in the UK? Anywho I couldn't get the measurements tonight and might not get them just yet. I'll post here when I do!
Rough estimate is as follows.
The inner panels are around 170cm, the outer 115cm, fuselage about 260cm without rudder
-
All good. Looks like 2 may arrive in Ireland next week :)
Thanks for the help. Sorry to cause you any hassle
Rogallo[/list]
-
Good news, I've been a bit busy and when we finally had time for some modeling stuff I forgot all about the measure bit!
I'm doing the pulling.

Very good Sverrir!
Is the Grunau a Krik kit? :?:
-
The builder said it's designed by Rüdiger Götz one of the editors of Modell (http://www.webshop.neckar-verlag.de/).
Short kit from http://www.cnc-modellbautechnik.de/.

no worries 2 in my garage :D
-
Good to hear, I'm sure you'll enjoy them as much as we have!
This one didn't go as planed but then you just add some funky music and try and enjoy the scenery!

That was the first flight right? :?:

Wish I could say it was but... they had done two "flights" before, here is the first.
