« on: September 08, 2010, 18:52:59 PM »
Hi Lads,
I'm  looking for Easy Glider, EG Pro, brushless with some 2.4G Rx, Tx like Futaba 6ex..
I'm new here, wanted buy first some RTF glider but can't find any rtf glider with Futaba  tx.

Hi DHML, welcome to the forum  :D

You are looking for a combo right ?

You will have to buy the EG Pro with the Brushless power set, and the Futaba TX separately (sorry, I don't know much about Futaba, but some here will know much more!)

EG Pro, available at all good model shops, so as the Futaba gears.

We can have the Eg and everything needed for it (we are MPX dealer), but not the Futaba TX/RX  :(

You don't really want Futaba anyway. Get a multiplex cockpit!

I tend to agree! Cockpit, cheap, and will do pretty much everything you want.
Available in 2.4Ghz with M link.

Or maybe you already have a Futaba radio ?  :?:

Sorry, no, it's cheap, but that's very good quality stuff!  :D
Fully programmable, and do basically everything bigger/more expensive radios do. And Multiplex quality and programming habilities.

I don't know the equivalent in Futaba, but I'm not too good with Futaba.
I've heard good things about the 8fg, I think that's what Keith have  :?:  Might tell you more about it.

That also depend of what you are planning to fly after that. Continue with gliders, go power plane, helicopters ?

I agree anyway, buy good once to avoid any problems !
My radios are at least 15 years old, and still going strong !

Ah good. Have a look at the Cockpit anyway to make your own opinion.
You can also check on the Graupner/JR side, with the MX12 for exemple.

For my stuff, pretty much everything is on the forum, not much on my website as I'm filling it up right now with everything  ( http://www.gliderireland.net ) and maybe check the video section, lots of interresting and various glider stuff in there (and a few of my gliders too)

Multiplex is high quality stuff. I've owned a Profi 3010 and now have an EVO 12 converted to Jeti 2.4GHz. I've never owned a Cockipit which is their entry level transmitter but I've never seen a bad review for it. I have handled one and the've a good solid feel to them, comfortable in the hands too although that's a subjective thing. When I say entry level - it's the bottom of the Multiplex range but Multiplex don't do any really basic radios. I'd say the Cockipit would easily match the Futaba 6ex on quality and probably easily beats it for flexibility. It's very capable with 7 channels and I reckon about the best capabilities for mixing, etc that you'll get without going to the high end side of the market. I'm not sure how the 2.4GHz Futaba 6EX and Cockpit SX M-link compare on price - I suspect the Cockpit and MX-12 cost a little more.

In my opinion the best 2.4GHz systems available at the moment are Multiplex M-Link and Jeti Duplex. Both have proven telemetry and no reliability problems that I've heard of. I like Multiplex transmitters (especially the programming). I added Jeti Duplex to mine because I preferred their range of receivers (the Multiplex telemetry receivers are a bit more expensive whereas all the Jeti receivers have telemetry and are a little cheaper).

The big difference between Multiplex transmitters and other brands is the programming. I find the Multiplex programming far more flexible, logical and intuitive than others I've tried or looked at. Once you understand the basics you're unlikely to ever need to look at the manual again but the learning curve at the start may be a bit steeper. Of course there are others who really don't like Multiplex programming but I think they're crazy.

As Fred mentioned the Graupner MX-12 is another nice option. In case you're interested that transmitter and the MX-16 are both available pre-fitted with the Jeti Duplex system:

Thanks for response guys! I think I'll go for the cockpit. If I will buy some simulator, can I use the cockpit? Best help for me will be a list what everything do I need starting from glider to charger.. And where can I get it.. (and also some info about total costs) I was thinking first about rtf Art-tech Diamond 2500, but it will be too big for beginning..

Hi DHML,

Strangely enough, chatting on another forum, someone did a short list of radios and their position in the market.

Entry level : Graupner MX12s, Futaba T6, Hitec Optic6
Middle : Graupner MX16s, Futaba T8, Multiplex Cockpit Sx
High end : Graupner MX24s, Futaba T12 or F30, Hitec Aurora9, Multiplex RoyalPro

That guy test radios for mags.

What is your budget by the way ?
