As the NIMSA boys will tell you, I NEVER have only one project on the go. Along with the Jart, I'll be building a PSS SU25 Frogfoot from the Griffiths & Briggs Plan. 44 in wingspan with foam wing and tail.

Plan called for 1/8 liteply formers. Didn't have any liteply so bagged some glass cloth front & back on 3/32. Should be more than strong enough!

Looks great Bill. We shall have to have a PSS day now!
Maybe Fred will finish his B-25?? and I believe he has an Aermacchi in the post too!

Like the vacuumed former idea. Will store that away for future use.
Would it be good for wing ribs as well? Easy to sand balsa and then a quick layer of glass for strength!

The free flight biys cut a large rib blank ie the right profile but maybe 20 x the thickness of a standard rib. They then bag carbon onto the top and bottom of this and once it's all set, they "sice" of ribs at 1/16 or 3/32 thickness. Every rib is identical and they're all carbon capped.

Do they lay 20x layers of balsa and shape that as a block in the traditional way then bag it with carbon and slice before the carbon is totally cured or one solid block and slice it with a machine I wonder

Yep, B25 still on top of the cabinet...

Seems like more and more PSS are being built, can be a good idea to organise a PSS event next year... Anyone interrested ? :?:

Might motivate me to finish the B25 !

An I have a lovely Fouga in Aer Corps colours. Winter is prob the best time for the stiff winds to fly pss though in my experience.

Will build a Magister in the next few months myself. Was thinking of doing the silver air Corp scheme too! They used to do formation training over my house when I was a kid. Was yours from a kit Ralph?
