RC Projects / Building
« on: March 29, 2024, 20:33:52 PM »
Small preview of my winter project - SuperGee2 from Mark Drela. I have 3D modelled the plane from the plan and already have most parts 3D printed. Hope to conclude this one soon, I had it as the winter project!  :)

Hi Filipe,

I saw some of the printed parts last week and they looked fantastic. Both Brendan and Alan would have an interest in this type of work.

Looking forward to your updates.

Hello all.
Yes Ralph, I am more than happy to share my experience with this first built using 3D printed parts. Anything which might be needed just reach out.
Here are some more pictures from the built.

Hi Alan.

Once it is completed I will take it to one of the meetings for sure.
Regarding the weather to be able to fly it, that is another thing.  :)
Every once in a while I get some suitable weather around the house, so, maybe I will put it to use.

Thanks

I am sure it will fly in our summer weather. The carbon LE and spar will make it quite rigid and strong. I would be interested in the weight of the model so far and if you had any information on the materials used for the printing. I am sure someone is bound to want to print something like this

Keep up the good work

Hello all.

Almost finished this one. I had to modify the front area of the fuselage because of the CG.
Overall it feels a bit fragile but will have to test it anyway.
I will also check the weight in the meantime, need to get a battery for the weight scale. Nevertheless, I believe it should be around the 280gram mark.
In regards to the printing filament I am using ColourFabb LW-PLA.
One question if anyone knows, I am getting some jittering from the digital servos. What I saw on the web is that having a ferrit ring in the servos cables should stop it.
As this happened to anyone before? If so, I was solved?

Thanks all and keep well.

Love the colours, it will look well in the sky.

What film covering are you using and did i require any special adhesive to make it stick?
