No worries, but, while we are at it, here is my point of view...
You can't ask people to drive 4 or 5 hours somewhere for at the end :
- have a slope where you can't fly what you brought / have,
- drive another 30, 40 mins or more, because another slope is better for today's wind,
and certainly more examples of that type, but you got my point.
To whom belong the event doesn't matter, at the end, you ask people to come somewhere to fly gliders, but as I say, if I spend more time driving around than flying, don't worth it.
I'm happy to go in Kerry or somewhere else, if I'm sure that I will actually fly what's on my car boot. And I'm sure I'm not the only one !
If you want people to get interrested to the hobby, or to go to meetings, you, we need to find decent place to welcome them, and have an event in good conditions.
Bill is coming from NI.. If he can't fly when he arrive, or ask him to drive another leg, will he come back ? Worth the assle ?
Same for you coming from Kerry, or us going to fly with you.
Anyway, the discussion is open, but we don't really have a lot of inputs, but maybe I have a more "continental" approach of the thing... :?:
