« on: September 08, 2018, 19:04:12 PM »
For those of us with satellite TV. :)
Sunday 9th September 8pm Channel 4. I'll be watching it, you might want to too! ::)
Try not to run out of airspeed, altitude and ideas....... all at the same time.

Ssssooo, who watched it?  :)

I have mixed feelings about it. I guess you need to watch it from a non modeler's point of view  :-\
Education is important, but flying RC planes and gliders is importanter!

There was very little about flying model aircraft to my mind. I think the producers were more interested in implying that by having German & British RC pilots flying the models they could somehow reproduce (re-live) the experiences of the life and death battle itself of which there is precious little surviving footage.
(From last nights program you could be forgiven for thinking that only British and German pilots fought the battle of Britian :-\)

The foamy PSS models had considerably high power to weight ratio than the full size machines. One seemed to be almost prop hanging while 'taking off!' ;D

Having said the above, I probably will watch the next episode. Though more in hope than anticipation!

Who else watched it?

Played to the UK stereotype of modellers being "weirdo's" and Germans being "organised". Will probably continue to watch but with limited interest
