FORUM UPGRADE!

Hi all,

I need your inputs
After 10 years, the forum served us well, and it is the biggest RC forum in the country. A mine of information, thanks to you all! :clap:  :clap:
We average 700 000 visits a year, and I have to say, we barely had any downtime at all!
But, I think it is time to do a bit of a facelift. I don't like it, as the forum is running just perfect, but it is time to move to the XXIst century!

So, what do you think?
It is a very simple job to do, so don't be shy, or think it is too much time consuming

I put a live second forum this morning (you only have the basic, but you get the idea!).
Play with it, it is not linked to this forum at all. Post photos, try from your mobile devices etc.
You should be able to logon using your username/ password from this forum.

Hi Fred,

I really like the "new posts" section. I've been meaning to ask you if it was possible to add this for quite some time.

At least one other forum I visit uses this and it really helps when time is short and there are topics I want to follow.

Hey Chris (and happy birthday!... Late  :oops:  :oops: )

Yeah, this was asked amongst a few other things.
Unfortunately, this forum software is way outdated, not much things that can be brought up to date. But it works!
The "new" software give us all the bells and whistles, and they pretty much look the same, so the transition should be an easy one.

Anyway, we'll see if I get more feedbacks

I'll try and add an attachment.......................
Er,...... no it doesn't work. When I click on "Attachments & and other options" I'm only offered "Notify me of replies", "Don't use smileys" and "Return to this topic"
If I try to add an image that doesn't allow me to browse through my pc.

You've still got some things to sort out here me thinks. rather you then me Mon Ami  ;D  (Oh, and the smilies don't work either Ha!) And neither do the Avatars show up by each persons posting Phew!

Found the issue (everybody is a"newbie" for the forum, so you are limited on what you can do)

For the smileys, they are working for me. If you are typing the smiley rather than clicking on them on top of the "write your post" box, they will not work as they have changed

And you know what I noticed here. We are 364 days away from Christmas, and they already put all the christmas decorations ON everywhere!
