Please Mr Fred, I’ve been out doing some flying. Not very long flights I admit, but the Phase 6 and the Solange have both felt the freezing air under their wings. It’s probably my imagination but they seem to find more lift in colder winds. (Air density is proportional to lift generated, and all that jazz. Er,… no , that should read the other way round shouldn‘t it)
Northerly breezes are predicted for tomorrow so I might go flying off the north slope of Big L. At least the car ( and it’s heater) are close by that slope.
The road does get a little slippery up there in these temps though. With no barriers to stop the car leaving the road it can cause ones bum cheeks to clench rather tightly sometimes and mean I have to open the window slightly to allow the escape of unsavoury aromas.
Another down side of flying in freezing temperatures is that the ‘Window’ in my Tx muff fogs up with condensation and I can’t read the display on the Tx
My Alpina is still in hospital. It’s beginning to look like a patchwork quilt of repairs. I was thinking of naming it the “Flying Wreck”. I might get another one one day: Memo to self….In future I must remember to switch the model on BEFORE I launch it.
Little Keith
(I believe Big Keith and Stephen were out on the west slope of Mt L. a few weeks ago. They‘ve chosen not to publisize their outing though.) (I wonder why? :?: )
