Scale guns
« on: April 29, 2016, 12:07:27 PM »
Alright, while I was at it, I did a very quick "how I do it" to make a standoff gun for the Lancaster.

I used stuff I had in the workshop, scrap wood and metal.

The main part of the gun is made with 10x10 Balsa.
The barrel are made of Stainless steel tubes, cut to size.
The overall length is about 100mm
Add to that a few pieces of wood to make the handle and the loader (?), and you have something that look decent from a distance :)

Photos are self explanatory :)

Tonight, painting and weathering :)
Education is important, but flying RC planes and gliders is importanter!

So, after all that, the guns are painted in flat matt black.
The weathering is then done with an old paint brush and silver. Not too much, easier to add than to remove!

Et voila, 9 guns for the Lancaster (8 + a spare).
