Min Quark has Flown  :clap:
Andrew is of line at the moment so he asked me to update you all on his maiden of the mini Quark.
In his words
"bloody Brilliant"
Andrew flew the Quark on Sunday morning on the North Coast of Ireland.
He said for a small plane it is rock solid and he was frightened by the roll rate.
From launch the wee Quark went straight out and away over the edge of Binevenagh.
 


Andrew said    if the Big Quark is half as good as the mini it will be a must have glider.
Fred , Andrew passes on his love and sayes a big THANKS for his mini Quark

Glad the Quark is performing well. I'd half expected a fully produced video from you Richard. Oh well, Hope springs eternal.

That is one Corker of a slope!  With lovely grass landing areas as well.
By the shadows I’d say it faces NW, am I right? How long does it take to get there from Moneymore?
(I think you N.I. guys are greedy. You hog all the best slopes and keep them to yourselves! :evil: )

Hi Keith, it takes about 40min from Moneymore, and yes it is North and west slopes with another south slope on the back.

As yet I have had no time to do a video, as JP and Andrew work when I am free.
Plus its cold and I am old and suffer alot in the cold weather, too many birthdays lol
Andrew and John are really pleased with their Quarks, if I can get myself out into the shed maybe another Quark will appear soon.
Carbon spares should be here this week.
It was difficult to get spares at 10mm o/d TUBE.

Hi Fred, Andrew is having PC problems so I have to reply,
The slope is Benevenagh, these are Andrews closest slopes the slope is a long ridge North and west facing with a south slope at the back.
For you it would be about a 2hr 40min drive  
We fly here during the summer with Andrew and if the winds are northerly we also fly ofF the beach.

Our 2011 Rathlin trip was a fantastic experiance with flying on Rathlin on the Saturday and then Benevenagh on Sunday.

I have a few more trips for the boys for 2012  :wink:

White park bay, Fairhead and some of the slopes over looking Murlough Bay and Cushendun !

The Quark Mini Saga continue!

We are well over 100 of these build now, and I get the occasional photo from time to time.

This one, built by Martin in Brittany, did its first flight yesterday.. And love it!  

It is built like John's one, in extruded foam, not EPP. And admire the colour scheme!    :mrgreen:







Built straigh off the plan, the only modification was to create a box, in 5mm plywood around the wing joiner tube in the fuselage (I think John had the issue of the tube crushing the foam...)

Specs :

-- 4 servos Protronik 9g   6452MG
-- 1  5 cells battery 900 mah
-- 5ch Jeti receiver
AUW : 806grs

He is now testing fligt phases etc  

Another 3 are being build this week, with TP profile, and one with wing incidence. I will let you know how these ones are going.

Ok, I go back in the garage finishing the plug for the 3mtrs one!
