Yesterday, I travelled down to the Cork Glide in
Different activities were planned, depending of the weather conditions (Aertowing, winch, slope etc).
Westerlies were the order of the day, so after meeting Ralph in his house for a chat and a coffee (and a visit to some sort of local model museum/hangar :lol: where apparently, live a building machine (aka Kevin)) time was to head to the Old Head of Kinsale, grabbing Gerry and his campervan on the way.
The Old Head, this is where, about 12 years ago, I did my first meeting in Ireland and met the crazy Cork guys (and while I had a nostalgia rush, found the photos I did at the time on my old website!
http://acmangouleme.free.fr/meeting_irlande.htm and if you looks closely, you can see a young Ralph in there!
)
Anyway, back to the slope... Lovely place to fly. Wind was dead on. Speed started at 10mph in the morning to a good 26mph later in the afternoon, allowing all sizes of machine to fly.
And flying, we did. A lot! Great wind, sunny weather and a group of like minded people (about 11 pilots and 3 or 4 times the number of machine, Kevin and Gerry accounting for half of them :lol:
) an you get the perfect ingredients for a fantastic sloping day!
All my thanks goes to Ralph, Kevin, Les (the usual suspects), Jack, for the local entertainment :lol: and of course, everybody at the CMAC and the one I forget!
An event not to be missed! :clap: :clap:
Here are a few photos, I'll do a gallery when I have time. And there is also a video coming
