Heat guns
« on: August 05, 2013, 23:59:43 PM »
Hi All,

Just looking into the use of a heat gun to finish off the tightening of oracover, I've a paint stripper black and decker gun but no temp setting, just wondering has anyone used these for applying covering or is it a waste of time ?.

Thanks

Hi Stephen,

Rarely use mine for covering I have to say, and never on plastic covering (Diacov/Diatex/Oratex OK).
You can use a hair dryer, safer, same effect  :D

I use a heat gun Stephen. Use lowest setting and keep it moving.
It will melt through very quickly if you leave it on one spot too long
