Coming back into the fold...
« on: July 11, 2013, 21:48:20 PM »
Hi all,
Just had a falling out with 'my' flying club to the extent that I've resigned.
Nuff of that.
Don't get me started....

And somewhere along the way all my gliders have disappeared.
Have to remedy that.

Meanwhile, I'm guessing that my MACI membership has become invalid, because I don't now belong to a club.

So long overdue I'm coming back into the Glider fold.

Why does that give me a cosy feeling?

Keith

Good idea.
Hope it doesn't coincide with any of wife's hospital appointments.
With any luck I can come over in the campervan.

Hey Ron, welcome back  :D
Keep in mind that you can join the ISR and get your MACI insurance this way. No club fees, you only pay for the MACI  :D

Oh and also, closer to you, there is the Cork Aerotow in August  :D
I'll be there, and can bring extra gliders if you don't have any  :D

Hey Fred,
That's another good idea. Cork Aerotow.
Have to get organised (who me! Organised?)
Should have a glider of some sort even if I just take the motor and ginormous battery out of the EasyStar.
Back to sensible size batteries.

Oops, forgot to say...
Yes I would definitely like to join (rejoin?) ISR.
So on an official note...
My now invalid MACI card has the wrong club name on it.
It's invalid because its got the wrong club name.
Don't want to put anyone to any trouble, but can I send ISR my card, and maybe some money or whatever that stuff is that comes in my pension?

Or maybe I have to contact MACI direct?

Hi Ron,

That's a good question regarding the MACI card.
That's strange that it is not valid anymore, as I guess these sort of thing happen, the MACI certainly have a "plan B" for that  :?:
If someone know, please feel free to tell! :)

I contact the MACI see if they can transfer without any charge, if any.

Yes it is a strange situation.
It's a club membership of MACI, so no club, no MACI.
On the card it even says I have to obey club rules, which is difficult with no club :)

Thanks for contacting MACI for me.
I'll wait to hear what the procedure is.
