Just been looking at the weather forecast for next weekend. Of course that’s a long way off in weather terms.
But as a thought, I was wondering if any of you might be interested in a spot of Aero Towing if the weather wasn’t up to much on the Big L.

I’d have to get such an event cleared with the committee of the Model County Club ( In Monageer Co. Wexford) of course. Only problem:- Has anyone got a Tug or an electric winch? ( The club has mains power and a number of 12v & 24v PSU’s)

Aero Towing would make a bit of a change from the usual slope soaring. May be one day of towing, and one day of sloping? :?:

Anyone got any views?

when you looked in the crystal ball, what did it have to say about the weather? I am not sure how to fly PSS without the S?

I was thinking of aero tow as more of a back up plan Ralph.
Just in case the winds were in the wrong direction or not strong enough. Rather than us all standing around kicking our heals, so to speak.

(Many years ago last century,or was it the century before that? :?: I used to be a Boy Scout. "Be Prepared" was our motto. :lol: )

Sorry guys I'll not be making it next weekend there's two bakers off already and there's no way they'll let me away

I like your thinking Keith better doing some sort of flying rather than none I have a piper cub with a 30cc engine that hasn't turned a prop in a year, I'm hoping to have an aero towing weekend in August

I think we should have a week end dedicated to aerotowing altogether (well, one or 2 or more!

)
To combine a week end with Sloping and aerotowing depending of the weather, is not,, in my opinion, very easy to deal with, as people who travel might like to know what is happening in advance. And what if the 2 days are great for sloping?

Anyway, I don't mind, one way or another, I'm in (I will follow the crowed!

) and whatever the wind, I can slope (part of the challenge!) so either option, is good for me.

But, if the MCFC want to organise a week end aerotowing, count me in big time! Not enough of that over here, and that might motivate me to finish my tow plane! (5 or 6 years in storage at this stage :oops: )

I'm hoping that they actually do something this time and not just physio and more painkillers. Don't relish the thought of more surgery, but I've been in a wheelchair once and that was once too many
