Hey Bill,

For the Diatex, it is an iron on covering if you see what I mean, so all reday to go.
You just need to seal it at the end, that's all.

Indeed...  nahh life and other stuff in the way, still need to cover the wings and then it'll wait for my P-47 to join it for some high velocity colour throwing contest!

Something new on your build?

Life? What's that?    :P

On my side, Fuselage is waiting for the covering, and wings are half sheted. I hope to finish that this week end and I'll post photos then, so all going good, first flight is getting closer!  :D

Oh, and you should post something about your P47!
One of my favourite WWII bird with the Hellcat  :D  (actually did a few local scale contests with a P47 a long time ago!)

The wingtips got that starved horse look so a bit of wood was added at the LE.

Next up, the paint job!   :)

Time for some colour!

Some more.

Bit nose heavy with all the missing parts behind the CG!  ;)

This is the "white" I'm using.

Smaller parts curing with big sister.

Fuselage is curing and waiting for the next colours.

Wings and wingstruts are also curing!

This picture might show the "white" colour better.

Yes, Sikkens Autocoat BT from Akzo Nobel.

Meet Mr. Spaceman!

No, red isn't part of the colour scheme... want a hint!?   :?:

You're no good at this guessing game mister...

As it seems I've finished the last remaining hardner in the country the painting has been halted until next week. But it doesn't matter much as I finished the last major colour tonight so only couple of small parts remain. Tomorrow will be like Christmas but only with lot more wrappings!

Better cover up what we don't want to paint.

Amazing how much time can be spent masking!

Add bit of colour!

Baking in the hot room.

Checking the colour in daylight, hard to belive but it's the same as on the pictures above!

Third colour added.

And the fourth one.

I've unwrapped the parts and it's safe to say that I'm well chuffed! All the lines are clear and no leaks.
Quality products and good working procedures pay off.

Tail part.

Close up of the colour lines, that "ridge" isn't as bad as it looks.

Wingtip

The front end.

I borrowed Cecil from a mate as his steed isn't ready yet.

And here she is fully assembled, well minus top hatch and wing struts.

Can't wait to see her airborne!

Lovely job. I've been building the 1/4 scale version for about 18 months now! Was going to use that colour scheme, but I'll need to rethink it now :?:
