Je suis pas tibulaire, mais presque

(can't translate that!)

"I'm not tubular, but almost", tu vois, c'est fastoche, l'anglais...
Bon, c'est sûr qu'à comprendre, c'est une autre paire de manche. Tiens, "une autre paire de manches", tu sais d'où ça vient?

Ok, finally some decent temperatures in the garage last week!
Time to do some resin!
Finally my spars are done in the wings. 5mm vertical spar carbone tape wrapped, plus the gap filled with carbone tow the entire lenght of the wing.

I always put some cling film on top of the work, just in case

And everything is bagged

Cook for 24 hours, and I now have a very strong set of wings!
They are the interior panels of the wings. Another 2.5m is missing to get the 6,5 metres  :D  I'll try to have the external panels done this week end.

So next : Wing joiner box to be glued at the root on the spar, wing joiner box at the tips, and time to do the sheeting. I will do eveything in one operation, just need the temperatures to go up again now!  :!:

Go on Keith! Get started on those Mu28 wings!  :P

Ooooooooo!!!, but what if I get it wrong??? :(

Feeling nervous Keith racks his brains to think of an excuse for not starting the build! :?:  :?:
Aa-hu, here’s one……. :D  ‘Luc ,of miniplumes, didn’t send a wing joiner, and despite my email requests for them he doesn’t reply to me any more!’

(Me thinks: Fred will come up with an answer to that eventually but maybe it’ll keep him quite for now.)

That's one of the worse excuse of 2012 so far!  :P

What was the wing joiner size?  :?:  And that should not stop you doing the first sheeting anyway!  :P

   Oh! That made me laugh Fred!!!
And you are, of course, correct.

I’ll tell what I’ll do,……

I’m in England for Easter, and then I’m visiting the States during May. When I get home from these travels’  I’ll make a start on the Mu28's wings. I have no excuses really, I’ve got the resin, carbon tape and spar, although I do have some repairs to make on other models, like the Kulbutin, but they shouldn’t take too long.

There,...you’ve beaten me into submission Fred. Happy now?

K.
ps I don't know the size of the wing joiner, I never received it!

Bringing that one back from the dead!

Progresses made on the ASH! At last!
Big step forward with the elevator fixing.

And with a 2.5m Baudis Ventus (almost ready!)

And all this while watching the Bray Airshow :)

Moving on the ASH!
Getting there :)

Only modification so far to the original plan, is that I added Winglets. Prettier this way I think :)
They are modified ones from Topp-Rippin.

Anyway, if all goes well, should be ready to fly this week end.
Left to do: Rudder, tow hook, CofG

Keeping an eye on a good day for a first flight in Mount Leinster now. W or NE please! Need room for landing :)
